Most of Designers and Architects spend most of the time in sketching pictures in Visio or ppt for presentation or documentation. Sometimes its odd that you may not find Visio on your personal laptop. Here is how LibreOffice Draw comes quite handy. This is pretty decent tool and support open office standard.

There are ways to export the drawing to visio. But the conversion is not straight. You have to do some work around.
Use export option: File ->Export and Select "Scalable Vector Graphics" (.svg) format .
After you save .svg format this can be easily opened using Visio 2003 or above.
